PROCESS OP DECENTRALISATION. By Telegraph—Special Dunedin, November 30. No timo is being lost in giving effc'cfc to much of the important legislation missed by Parliament last session. One mutter that is being dealt with refers to the policy adopted in connection with the decentralisation of the work of Public Trust offices.
Speaking on this subject to a Dominion* representative to-day, the Prime Minister (ilr. Massev) said that power was obtained to appoint nine additional local Deputy-Public Trustees at Hamilton, Napier. Wanganui, llaworay Palratrston North. Nelson, Invewargill, and two other centres. This will mean that at thirteen centres such offices will now bo located resulting in estate administration work and account work at these centres beiiiK performed locally, Mibjeet (o certain reservations, thus enabling matters foeini: promptly settled and beneficiaries and other interested parties being able f io personally deal with the officers of the Department on the spot Local deputies under the scheme have already been appointed, ajid nmingenicnb; are completed for commencing the new system.
. "This marks a special development in the activities of the Public Trust Office," said Mr. Masscy, "and I am sure it will be widely appreciated as soon as the present o.eveiopment settles down. The requirement!! of the North Auckland district will Imi considered, as well as a further development of the policy in tho suburbs of tho lamer cities of the Dominion." .
