Miss Ironside, M.A., who for some years hns been head mistress of the Palinerston North Girls' High School, has just received tlio appointment of principal of tho Girton Girls' Grammar School, Victoria. The staff of this school at prosent includes four full-time teachers and twelve visiting teachers. Miss. Ironside is to hnye full charge of all mntters in connection witli the 6chool, lncluflinp the matter of staffing. Mr. David -Amesbury, one of the oldest settlers in the Foilding district and jvell known over the Dominion as an amateur taxidermist, has died there at the age of 73 years. Mr Edwin Irwin, of Feildmg, died on Thursday after a lengthy illness. He was one of tho original settlers in the Benconsfield district and latterly had farmed at Apiti.
