NOTES FROM VARIOUS CENTRES [From Our Special Correspondent!,) WAIRARAPA ■Vt a meeting of the AVnirarapa South County Council it was decided not to agree to the levy required oi the council, 20 per cent, of half the cost of the propnsed work, -£4500, in reconstructing bridges and repairing the road over the Riimitatai Hill, the- other hnlf of the cost being borne by the Government. Councillor W. Perry was appointed to represent the council at any conference to lie the subject. The roadmen's wages were increased Is, per day, mi<king the general rate 12s, per day, with an extra Is. per day when spreading raotnl for i> contractor. The county overseer's Balary was increased by «C 25 per annum. As soon as the loan is npnrcved, tenders for metalling the Admiral Head aro to bo called.
