MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING

BROOKLYN CLUB'S SOCIAL. The Brooklyn Miniature Rifle Club held a welcome, home social and dance at the Masonic Hall, Brooklyn, on Thursday night, there being about eighty cuuples present. The evening opened with a euchro tournament. In the absence of tile president (Mr. G. Frost) Mr. Ramsay (vice-president) delivered the welcome home speech, and made sympathetic reference to the. loss the club- and -the community..lmd : sustained in the death of two of its members, Captain Mollison and Mr. M'Cauley. He extended 'a hearty welcome homo from service to Messrs. Baldwin, Worsfield, Waters, Beavis, Dumming, Alabaster, Wilson and M'Donnld. Messrs. Waters, Beavis' and Baldwin suitably responded on behalf of the returned soldiers present. Tho chairman apologised for tho absence of the Rev. Mr. j)cnl, through illness, and Messrs. I). .1. Alabaster aim Stoekbridge'. On behalf of the Miniature Riile Association, Mr. M'Nio referred. to tho Brooklyn Club's victory in the championship inter-club matches, and suggested that tho ladies of Brooklyn might form a ladies' rillc club. The euchre tournament was wen by Mr. M'Cronci»nd Miss Tebbs. During the evening vocal items and were given by Messrs.--Lnycock, Eraser, and Thompson, and Miss'Pickett. The ladies provided an excellent supper. The remainder of the evening was devoted to dancing. During tho evening Mrs. G. Frost presented the prizes won during the last quarter; figures in parentheses are scores and ,points :— J. Graham (800), the Perkins cup and "Daily Express" medal; the Turner handicap cup (823); the Holcroft shield and S.M.R.C. spoon (98); tho Alabaster trophy (2GB). . . ,T. Wilson (-lflj point?), the Alabaster points cup; B class cup (77o); B class trophy (280). — M'Donald, A class Irophy. W. Webb (270), A class trophy. , — Wannell (287), B class trophy. J. B-assett (271). B class trophy.. The performances of the two teams, which are very 'creditable, are as follow: A team fired 12 matches; won 9, lost 2. drow 1. B; train fired 10 matches and won 10.
