Tho funeral of the iato- -Mr,. Alfred Lindsay, which took place yesterday morning, was very largely attended, and ■from those who were present it was easy to gather the wide respect. and ■. regard iii which the deceased'was held. Mr. Williiun Foster, headmaster of the Clydd- Quay School, ■is at present seriously'indisposed. Jfr. R. E. Robertson, of Xo. 25 Rimu Road, Kelbum, has just received advice that his sldest'son, Captatf.G. H.' Robertson, N.Z.M.C., has left England for New' Zealand in the transport Princez. Dr Robertson had a very successful educational career in the high schools and universities .in New Zeu-lQiidj i \h&'\ing gained a junior and senior ;. "university scholarship, B.Sc. at Victoria—College, and M.So. (with honours) also. his Medical Degree at the University. Shortly after the declaration of war, he joined the Expeditionary Force ami was sent to Egypt, and afterwards to I'ranee where he was attached, to No.. A l'leld Ambulance-for over two-years and a bait,' ■being altogether over 3, years with the N.Z.E.F. A few-, days previous, to the siting of the- armistice, Dr. Robertson wa3 recalled rto England, to. undertake special research work, and was also engaged at Guy's Hospital, Walton-on/-' Thames, and Queen Charlotte Maternity Hospital. Mr. R. E. Robertson's two other sons, Fred, and Norman, also lett with the N.Z.E.F., and mo still in England. Norman was wounded at the battle of Lo-Quesnoy and' is still under treatment at Hontchurch Hospital. Mr. T. E. Jones, of the Mail Room staff of the G.P.O. has received advica that his second youngest 6on, Gunner, Val Jones, is. returning by the Pakeha, which is duo to arrive in Wellington 'about May 30. Two other sons are still on active service—Sapper Gus Jones, who is expecting to leave for New Zealand shortly, and Captain Lance Jones, M-C., who is on the Demobilisation-Staff, and does not expect to-be-home before the end of the year. All three have seen service in France, and Captain Jones, M.C., in Eppt as well, having seen four years' service. •. .
