FARMERS' ORGANISING
Palmerstoh North, March 17. The farmers of Manawatu and Rangitilcei continue to steadily organise, their forces, and the provincial organiser of the N.Z. Farmers' Union, Mr. Tancred Cooper, met with'a splendid response on his provincial tour. Mr. Cooper visited reilding, Wanganui, AVaverley, Marton, Huriterville, Manguweia, and Raetihi,' and in all thoso places great'success attended his efforts. It was unanimously agreed by unions throughout to raise their subscriptions to the amount paid in the Palmereton district. The Raetihi branch'has established a fine precedent. By contributing a further two or three guineas per annum'the members have made arrangements to build an institute to cater for their wives and children, affording "a comfortable resting-place whon. visiting that eentre. This will fill. a much-felt want, and it will bo interesting to see'if Manawatu farmers are induced to make a similar move. The fact that a farmers' club lias already been established in Raetihi makes tho project more striking. The organiser hopes that a great number of branches jn the Wellington province •». will follow _ Raetihi'sexample.; Mr. Cooper will now visit Woodville, Knnieroa, Pahiatua, and Eketahuna districts.
