'DECISIONS OF THE CITY COUNCIL,

On the recommendation of the Leaseholds Committeo the following decisions were come to at the meeting of the Oily Council last evening:— (1) That the lessees of Section IG, Block It, To Aro Reclamation, be advised that the council will bo prepared to accept a rental of M 10s. per foot for the twenty-one years' renewal period of their lease. The present rental is .£1 15s. per foot. ~ , (2) That Sir. C. B. Morison, IvC., be appointed assessor for the corporation in the revaluation of the leases now pending, and also those requiring consideration shortly. (3) That the holder of au option to purchase certain corporation property in Willis Street bo informed that the council propose to pull down the buildings now on the land not later than the end, of March, and that she must be prepared to complete on that basis and make her arrangements accordingly. Tho committeo reported that the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal mid Public Bodies Empowering Act, passed this session of Parliament, inado provision for the following corporation requirements:— Section flO.-Extending the timo for carrying out the Evans Bay reclamation works. Section 51.-Making clear that the provisions of Section 140 of the lieserves 'Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1915, and subsequent legislation .amending same shall apply for all corporation leases. Section 52.-Pcnnitting tho corporation to use six new of land at Lyall Bay previously set aside for carshed purposes to 1* utilised for the purpose of workers' dwellings or other municipal undertaking as the council by resolution prescribed. The report was adopted. Messrs. A.. K. nislon, Limited, merchant*, announce in another column that- their warehouse and offices will he closed from December 23 to January 1 inclusive.
