Mao Donald hopes to be able to announce the name of the caiididate at the- end of this-week, or early in nest week, who will he the National Government candidate for the seat , of Wellington Central. ' The two Labour candidates in the running, for the official Labour nomination are Mr. P. Fraser and Mr. J. Read, and it is said that Mr. C. H. Chapman may go into the preliminary ballot to be taken next week. It is Rpiiwnlly accepted that Mr. P. Fraser In iiost "likely to get the nomination. The Wellington South branch and the Wellington North branch of the New Zealand Labour Party and the Women's International League have nominated Mr. P. Fraser for selection as a Labour candidate for Wellington Central. A ballot for the selection of a Lahour candidate ifor tho Wellington Central electorate will be held in the new Trades Hall, Vivian Street, on, Saturday and .Monday next, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nominations close to-day at noon. _ ' . Labour's election campaign will beopened at tho Alexandra Hall, Abel Smith Street, on Thursday evening, September 19, at 8 o'clock. Mr. A. Parltuie (president L.R.C.) will preside.
