At the last Wellington hide and skin sales three Wairarapa ox hidcß made <i New Zealand record. Ono of these realised £5 11s. ifd., which a few years back would have very nearly purchased a whole' carcass.
A sum of £200 was taken at tho Mastortou Patriotic Shop on Saturday. A district nurse is to bo appointed to Eketahuna, provided i,he necessary guarantee*' can bo obtained.
At the annual meeting of the Masterton Co-oporativo Dairy Company on Saturday tho annual report and bal-ance-sheet were adopted. Messrs. W. EL Buick, J. E. Kjestrup, and C. A. Wall wero re-elected directors, and Mr. J. C. Ewington managing director. The manager of the factory (Mr. Hopkins) was highly praised for tho quality of tho article he has been manufacturing. The Feathorston Camp Band gave sacred concerts in the Masterton public park on Sunday afternoon and in tho Opera House in the evaning. Tho Masterton branch of tho New Zealand Educational Institute decided on Saturday that any mala teacher on active servico shall be financial during tho period of his active service.
As the result of the visit paid to Wellington on Fridav by directors of the Foatherston Co-operative Dairy Company important proposals are to be submitted to the sinniml meeting of shareholders on Wednesdiy.
A second application made to' the Public Trustee as to the loan of £2000 for completing the Featharston sewerago scheme being constructed from the Crawford bequest, the whole amount of which is not yet available, has been successful.
