By Telegraph.—Press Association Christchiirch, August 26. The Hon. G. W. Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs, referring to the appointment of a totalisator inspector, mado an announcement regarding the odd money over in dividends, which during tho four days' racing in Grand National week amounted to JES4I. Tho Minister said that the money did not bolong to tho clubs, and should bo returned to the public. Ho would riot object if it were handed to patriotic organisations during the war, but later lie would endeavour to eecure it for the benefit of the hospitals and to assist tho country's poor.
