AN AFFILIATION CASK. In the Supreme Court vesterdav, before His Honour 11 r. Justice Hoskiiiß, Inn ease of Ernest Swaysland v. Irene .lane Elizabeth Gough was heard. The co.se was an appeal against the decision «f Mr. H. E. M'Carthv, S..M. The Magistrate, in his judgment, held that Swaysland was the father of the complainant'!; illegitimate eliild, horn on August 2ii, 1917. The defendant's case rested on his own denial, and the evidence of thres girls. The Magistrate hold that complainant's evidence was true, and was corroborated bv credible witiir-.se?. Costs totalling ,£2l 7.<„ which included confinement expenses and past maintenance, were allowed.
