— # During the past quarter the receipts of the Wairarapa Patriotic Association amounted to ,£10,876 os. 7d. Clf this amount X7G92 9s. was provided by the Masterton branch. A slight fall of snow occurred in Masterton on Tuesday night. An effort is being made to induce tho farmers of the Wairarapa to establish farmers' agricultural classes, and to cooperate in field experiments. The investments made by the Wairarapa Patriotic Association up till June amounted to .£70,898. The quarterly interest amounts to .€llOO. The total funds in the Imndß of the association on June 30 amounted to .£94,519. The Public Works Department is about to call tenders for the erection of a post office at the Tiraumea soldiers' settlement. The gas manufactured at the Masterton gasworks during the month of .Tune showed an increase of 13.24 per cent, compared with the same month last year. The Masterton Borough Council has decided to "receive" a letter from the Gisborne Borough Council, dealing with the question of the internment of alien subjects. In a match for the Prngnell Shield, Featherston (holders) defeated .Masterton at the local miniature rifle range on Tuesday night by 875 points to #55.
