SECOND DIVISION LEAGUE
At a committee meeting of (ho Lyall Bay Branch of the Second Division League it was resolved to call upon the suburban members .of Parliament to'join with other members of Parliament in demanding an immediate concession of a minimum clear income, for r. soldier's wife of £2 2s. pur week, or, failing this within one month, to demand the immediate sitting of a special session of Parliament to deal with (he whole question of the conditions of service, i Extreme dissatisfaction was expressed at the lack of system in the operation of tho Soldiers' Financial Assistance Board, no definite basis of relief existing whereby reservists could ascertain the financial position of their dependants in tho way of grants for existing renurring obligations, and steps are (o bo taken to endeavour to have this obstacle removed. It was decided to hold a social eveninc in the Inst week in July as a send-olf j lo local iwrviits due at camp in the August draft.
