Lloyd George welcomed the Imperial delegates in n cordial speech at the War Cabinet, and afterwards entertained them at luncheon, together with the High Commissioners.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. TO-MORROwlirrilE PACIFIC IMPORTANT REPORT ON GERMAN PRE-WAR METHODS. London, June 11. The "Evening News" states that Mr. Walter Long, Colonial Secretary, recently sent Mr. R. W. Dalton, Trade Commissioner fo.' New Zealand, on a visit to the Southern and Western Pacific. His report furnishes, c.n unqualified condemnation of German trade and governmental methods, and proves the strategic necessity for the retention of the islands. In view of Mr. Dalton's report, Mr. Long will inevitably .acquiesce in the claims of the Dominions that German influence shall bo permanently eliminated from the South Pacific. In view of the opening of the Imperial Conference, the Colonial Institute pusscd a resolution urging that in the interests of the Empire and. the native races none of the former German possessions overseas should be restored.— Aus.-N.Z.
