A GOOD RECORD
FOR THE WELLINGTON COLLEGES. The annual report of the Board of Governors of the Wellington Boys'"and Girls' Colleges, submitted at the last meeting, and since forwarded on to the Minister of iiducation, ■ says:— "The governors of the Wellington College and Wellington Girls' College report that both colleges under their charge have done good work during the year ended December 31, notwithstanding eome trouble caused at the Boys' College through masters going to the front and others having to be appointed to take up their work. The results of outside examinations are as follow:— , "Wellington College.—University National Scholarships, 2; passed University scholarship examination with credit, 4; qualified for matriculation on above, 2; qualified for medical preliminary on above, 1; passed matriculation, solicitor's general knowledge and medical preliminary examination, 29; pnssed matriculation and solicitor's general knowledge, 1; passed engineering preliminary, 2; passed matriculation, '1; passed matriculation (partial), 1; matriculation completed, i; Senior National Scholarship; 5;. Junior National Scholarship, 4; junior free places, 20; senior free places (with credit), 13; senior free places, 62; Civil Service entrance, 19 (H. R. W. O'Connor first in New Zealand).
