VICTORIA COLLEGE COUNCIL
A meeting of the Victoria College Council was held last night. The chairman (Mr. Clement Watson) presided, and there were present: Messrs. 1!. M'Calhini, AV S. La Trobe, W. H. Morton, P. Levi, 1-'. H. Lakewoll, A. E, Atkinson, F. W. Smith, and Professors T. A. Hunter and ,1. M. E. Garrow.
It was resolved that the council award threo Jacob Joseph Scholarships this year as suggested by the Professorial Board, namely, lo Miss E. Dupfgan, SLA., Miss Shields, M.A., and Mr. K, D. Thompson, M.A. Tho council decided to grant a sum not exceeding .£lO to the Students' Association to cover expenditure in connection with the Koll of . Honour. Tho election.of chairman had to take placo at the meeting, and Mr. Clomont AVateon ,wae re-elected, his being the onlv nomination.
