AMERICAN STEAMER'S LUCKY SHOT. Washington, May 7. The Navv Department has announced that the American ship Tidewator recently (on March 17) had an encounter with a submarine in European waters. Tho Tidewater's third shot hit and sank the submarine.—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn. AN AMERICAN VICTIM. New York, May 7.
