ST. PATRICK'S DAY

The committee responsible for the arrangements in connection with the celebration of SI. Patrick's Buy has everything well in hand. The children, who will give the massed Swedish drill display at Newtown Park on Saturday afternoon, under Rev. Bto. Egbert, are practising assiduously. The sports programme provided caters for all classes. The procession will contain some prettily-ar-ranged tableaux. The concert at tho Town Hall on Monday evening promises to be one of the best yet arranged for a St. Patrick's Night. The public of Wellington will have tho opportunity of hearing Ireland's national songs sung by fresh' voices which the committee has gone to considerable expense and trouble to nrocure. Tho names of such artiste are Messrs. Martin Duff, the Duncdin tenor j Fred. G. Bourke, the Auckland baritone; Lieut. C. Zieslcr (a returned soldier), n well-known Timaru singer; Miss Kathleen Wood, tho Wangnnui soprano; Miss Eileen Driscoll, the Wellington mezzo soprano; and Mr. Kevin Dillon, the Wellington elocutionist, should he a. sufficient guarantee o?the excellence of the programme. It is now often that a lady publicly plays the large organ of the Wellington Town Hall, but Miss Eileen Dennehy, late of Timaru, will render selections of "Irish music at the national concert. The box plan opened at the Bristol this morning.
