STAPLES'S EMPLOYEES' PICNIC
The annual picnic of tho employees of Messrs. Staples and Co. was held at Day's Bay on Saturday. The glorious weather and the pleasant surroundings made the day's outing enjoynble. The results of the sports events wero:— 100 Yards Handicap.—N. Oliver, 1; B. Woodward. 2; H. Buck. 3. 50 Yards Swimming Handicap.—R. Budge, 1; H. Buck, 2; J. Sharp, 3. 75 Yards Ladies' Handicap.—Miss J. Nicholson, 1; Miss J. Mauder, 2. Three-legged Race.—J. Thompson and H. Buck, 1. 75 Yards (Veterans).—J. Quin, 1; T. Ward, 2; C. Edwards, 3. Couples' Race.—Miss Nickolson and H. Buck, 1. Cigarette Race—J. Thompson, 1; J. Sharp, 2.
