WAR-TIME BIRTHS AND DEATHS

BRITISH STATISTICS FOR. 1916. London, February 21. The Registrar-General's statistics for 1916 have been issued. They show the lowest birth and death-rates and almost the lowest marriage-rate on record. The marriage-rate of widows was the highest for tliirjy years. Births exceeded deaths by 2/7,303, excluding war fatalities, which are believed to be much under these figures.
