The Auokland Racing OJub'e Summer {Meeting concluded to-day in dull, showery weather. 'There was a largo attendance, 'and tho totalisator liandled £76,945, as 'against 73,491 10s. for tho corresponding day of last year. Tho total for the meeting was £227,924, as against £200,373 ifor tho three days of last year. ;_ The opening event again sftw Fabi'iquette Sn winning form. The early running was made by Lady Paula and. Pateonga, but onco in tho straight Fabl'iquctte shot through, and aoon had iho others settled. Woody Glen finished well, and boat Garry Owen for second place. All tnlk was neit. Pateonga bled, and was pulled iip, and (Empire, after delaying tho start considerably, was left at the post, • Troublesome and Spalperiou were withidrawu from the New -Yearls Hurdloa. Sir iSolo and Gluetanus were the favourites, but neither got into a placj. Criapeeu and Pleniuotent made the early running, j>tlt half a mile from home Tenacioua and iSleiidalough took charge, and the latter,, staying the better, won by a couple of Jehgths. Glucpot was a length away, ami then came Slarconi. Gluetanus and Plenipotent fell. .
Spanner <was withdrawn from the Midsummer Handicap, for which Long Range, Piraeus, and KHlowcn were preferred in that order. At the start, the latter and Fhilomcla were the Quickest to.Snd their feet, while Cherry Mart ivas one- of tie last to move. Entering the straight, KillVowen was out by himself, and. holding his vown, ho won by a couple of lengths from '.■Long Eange, who got up in lime to beat . Ihilomela for second place. Canzonet dose up, and then came War March. ; In tlio Dorby, Estland vrae at a price i'nanally associated Svith Desert Hold, but j';the odds were never in danger. Lord ijKonilworth piloted the field at a slew »3>ace for a mile, when the favourite.t<ok Charge in the straight. Vagabond challenged, but he ran very wide, and ryer ."ithe last pinch.Lord Kenilworth, ficifhing .straight, got up and beat Vagabond iev second place. Tho winner got a trocd icjjception from the crowd. Silver Trnguv Vaa fourth. Hymestra was not started. The bracketed pair,! King JiUpin and >llill o' Gowrie waa the favourite stlcction .with backers for the Newmarket Handicap, with Hymestra second choice. At 'the start, Hymestra, Ayah, and King Lupin led, but at the half-mile post tho 'lop weight lost his position. Shiela and "Gazique were prominent, with. Hyme»tra ; at the straight entrance, but the two •first-named gave way, and Wrestler challenged Hymestra. A great finish resulted in favour of Hymestra by a head, with lAyah a length away.
