At 3.40 a.m. yesterday smoke was seen issuing from above the ongiaeToom in the small steamer Karu while she My at No. 4, Queen's Wharf. When tlie cabin was left locked at 9.45 p.m. a light was burning, and tliis, tlie fire brigade states, in some manner caused the fire.
