. Miscellaneous. A report was received from the ranger on S.G.R. 51, Block X, Rewa 5.D., 1365 acres.' It was resolved to advise the lessee that it has been dccided not to offer him a renewal or his lease at present, but his position in. the matter will not be prejudiced by any delay in further dealing with the matter;— Approved. ■: Mrs. H. Merry applied to r-urrenaer 40 acres, included in her permit to occupy Crown lands in Block All and XVI. Kaitieke.—lt was resolved to accept the surrender as oil December Jl, 1917, and to allow Mrs. Merry to remain in occupation of the remaining area included in.the permit, of bi acres, rental to be adjusted I? commissioner.— Approved. . The Commissioner submitted a plan of Pukenamu settlement and valuations. It was resolyed to approve tno scheme of subdivision into threo sections of 75, 74, and 73 acres, and ot their being offered on special tenures under Section 4 of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, at capital values, based on surveyor s valuation.— Recommended for the approval of the Minister. . • f The Public Trustee in the "state ot T. Lauren son. deceased, applied for an extension of the sublease of Section IX, Block X, Ohinewairua S.D., 10 J. ItBanks, for a term of one year.—ApApplication for Fee Simple.—Section 6. Block XIV, Manganui S.D., 200 acres, CI. W. G. Goanell-Approved. The commissioner advised the board that Part 2 of Section 375, Block V, Wairoa, 20 acres, recently surveyed, has now been proclaimed as >et apart under the Discharged Soldiers _ Settlement Act, 1915. The question of price was considered, and it was resolved to fix the capital value at £<UU. Mr. W. J. Welch, chairman of the Masterton County Council, and Mr. W. Fisher, chairman of the Masterton Hospital Committee, waited on tne board as a deputation from these ■ bodies, with regard to proposals re Waipoua River protection works—it was resolved to inspect the works. Mr. J. Bentley wrote, surrendering his interest in temporary granting permit over Lot 1, Hall-Jones Settlement, about 20J- acres, and Messrs. A. 0. Kaye and G. Weir applied for a permit to occupy same area.—lt was resolved to accept Mr. Bentley s surrender as on January 2, and to grant Messrs. Kayo and Weir a permit to occupy said area and cottage thereon at a rent of £9 ss. per month, subject to determination at any timo cn one month's notice in the event cv the whole or any portion bemg required ror other purposes. , The commissioner having reported that tlie survey of small lots at \\ ade s Landing had been completed.-It was resolvwl to proclaini as set apart tor disposal under Section 4 of "lie Discharged Soldiers Settlement Art, all tn" small lots disposed of to dtscnarged soldiers in Block XI, Retarulto S.D., which havo not been already pioclamied, and to adopt the values recommended by the ranger.
