M'Carthy, S.M., yesterday delivered judgment upon tho case of Frederick Charles Munro, manager of a Marble Bar in Manners Street, who was charged with keeping his establishment open on a Sunday for the purposo of trading. His Worship said that on the Sunday in question the bar was open from 10 a.m. to about 10 p.m., and from two to three> thousand persons were served with light refreshment in the course of the day. Shops could' not be kept open merely to satisfy the whims and caprices <,f those who could supply themselves. Tho fact that the penalty imposed 'by the section was merely nominal, and did not act as a deterrent was beside the question. Munro was fined £1 and costs 7s.
