SOLDIERS' TEETH
WORK OF DENTAL CORPS.
The Minister nf Defence lias received from Colonel Huuter, Director of Dental Services, a report of the work in England for the New Zealand troops "by the Now Zoaland Dental Corps. Colonel Hunter says:. "Tho work of rendering all troops dentally efficient uer fore leaving the United Kingdom for the front is of- the utmost importance, as it tends to reduce to a minimum the number of soldiers sent back from the front for minor complaints." He emphasises tlio fact flls<s that the conserving work that is feeing done to save the teeth of the men is of great im-' portance in maintaining the general Health of the troops. He says also that the system of charting which introduced while lie was in England ■is working well. It would now 06 possible For the administrative dental officer to know definitely the amount ot work necossary for all troops in all camps, the class of treatment, and to know also whether, it is beint; carried out or not. "I am very pleased to say " lie goes on. "that my suggestion of a central clinic is being wen effoct to in the Reserve Group at Sling. This will mean greater efficiency and economy, as the officers work better together than when isolated. _ lhe work can be arranged and specialised better, and less attendance and equipment is necessary."
