MASTERTON NOTES
Repairs have been completed to various bridges in the Castlepoint County 'which were damaged by tho heavy earthquake. A new ferro-concrete bridge is to be erected over the Whareama River. A letter has been received by the Wairarapa Patriotic Association from the High Commissioner, stating that a shipment of parcels of concentrated foods, forwarded by the association to the men in Egypt, which it was feared bad been lost, has reached its destination safely. Forty members of the Masterton Lodge of Oddfellows are at present on 'active service.
The Masterton Boy Scouts _ intend camping at a seaside resort during the summer holidays. - The Claims Board of the. Wairarapa Patriotic *tisociation las resolved to forward £50 per month to the Belgian Refugees' Fund from moneys hold on behalf of this fund. The Masterton Scouts Council has resolved to provisionally appoint tho following officers to replace those who have left on active service:—District commissioner, W. D. Shoosmith; scoutmasters, D. Ross and L. Prior; assistant scoutmasters, E. Bannister and A. Gardiner.
