HUTT VALLEY HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY

Entries for the Rose, Sweet Pea, and Carnation Show to be held in the Drill Hall, Lower Hutt, to-day, have oomo in freely. The competition in the sweet pa sections particularly should prove keen, for the season has been very favourable to this popular annual. Thu lady helpers have undertaken the afternoon tea arrangements, also the rale of flowers. The profits are to be donated to the Wounded Soldiers' Fund as in past seasons. The society has also in hand, the sale of the "Featherston Camp Record," a fiplendidly-wrifcten and illustrated history of the camp life and work. The proceeds from these sales are to defray cost of the erection of an obelisk to the memory of soldiers who have died in camp. A generous response is anticipated.
