Tho hall had been prettily decorated for the occasion, and the stalls, which had been arranged to the best advantage, made an excellent display of goods of all kinds, including plain and fancy sowing, produce, flowers, sweets, miscellaneous goods, etc. Boy Scouts formed a guard of honour for Mrs. Moorhouse upon her arrival, and they also took their places upon the platform for tho opening ceremony, one of their number presenting Mrs. Moorhouse - with a bouquet of lavender and pink sweet peas fastened with pink ribbons. The Rev. Mr. Watson, in his introductory speech, outlined the object for which the bazaar was held—that of raising funds for enlarging the Mission Hall and oxtending the work, for which there was great need. It was proposed to havo a two-story building with classrooms on the ground floor for Sunday School and other activities, and on the second story to provide accommodation for the parish visitors so that they might bo on the spotjor the furtherance of the work. _ Tb carry out this scheme it was estimated that about £700 would be needed. It was a. work that deserved the loyal support of the whole parish. Mr. Watson further spoke of the splondid work which had been done by the mission workers, and he considered that it had made great strides. Mrs. Moorhouse, in opening the bazaar, complimented the organisers upon the results of thoir work, as seen on the stalls, and hoped that.the money which was needed for the extension of the work would soon bo raised. She was greatly pleaded indeed to 6ee that tho Boy Scout movement had taken root among them, and she was quite sure that such a movement, which was a recent one in that part of the parish, could result in nothing but good. Mr. Ballingor thanked Mrs. Moorhouse for opening the bazaar, and said that he was sure tho money would be forthcoming for such a worthy cause as that of enlarging the scope and activities of St. Peter's Mission. Among the stall-holders were the parish visitors, ill's. Birchell and Miss Dixon, who were in charge of a stall for miscellaneous goods.
