ROSE FETE & DUTCH GARDEN

IFOR THE N.Z. TRAINED NURSES' MEMORIAL FUND. Thereis every indication that the fete which is to be held at the Town Hall on December 7, in aid of the New Zealand _ Trained Nurses' Memorial ■ Fund, will meet with a very generous response. Among the many attracItions wjll be a tulip garden, which will be under the direction of Mrs. Arthur Pearce, and in which people will be invited to dig a tulip. The garden will be of sawdust, with a picket fence surrounding it, and patrons will be allowed to choose their tulip, and with it receive an interesting bulb attached. The tulips are being made by a band lof willing workers at Mrs." Pcnrce's residence, and are beautifully done, each worker being an expert at the various parts of the flower, and Mrs. Pearce has collected many valuable gifts for grown-up folks, and a wealth of desirable toys for the little ones. A pond with water-lilies and surrounded with irises, will be another attraction, while there will be stands' of roses and other flowers, which will be I' arranged by the members of the Wellington Rose and Carnation Club. There will be various sweet, posy, icecream, produce, cake, and afternoon tea stalls, to be presided over by the following ladies:—Mrs. H. M. Goro, Mrs. Hislop, Mrs. G. Johnson, Mrs. .T.
