PRICE OF MILK
RISE OF A HALF-PENNY PER . GALLON. A special meeting of the Wellington City Council will bo held before the ordinary meeting to-morrow evening to pass a resolution (by way of special order) adopting the Wellington City By-law No. 31, milk supply, 1917. Tho new by-law which the council is to bo asked to approvo is the imposition of id- per gallon inspection charge for all milk that will be put through the clearing station now in course of erection, snch charge to cover the cost of tho proposed inspection and testing work that is to be undertaken at the Thorndon depot. So far the proposed impost haa not been sanctioned by the Minister.
