A FICTITIOUS WAR FUND
RUSSIAN FINED FOR COLLECTING SUBSCRIPTIONS. By Tclesrapli—Press Association. Auckland, November 5. A Russian named Kiril Kerilor appeared for sentence at the Magistrates Court on charges to which he had pleaded guilty at Mercury Bay of collecting subscriptions for a fictitious Russian war fund. Evidence was given that accused was of good reputation, and was formerly an officer of tho Salvation Army afc Minerslon North. "I know that over ,£IOO has l>een collected," counsel slated, "but tho whole amount is intact." Having received an undertaking that the money would be handed to the Publio Trustee, tho Magistrate imposed a fino of iC2O.
