GOVERNMENT DROPS THE BILL

The Legislative Council wet yesterday at 11 a.m. WAR LEGISLATION. I A message was read stating that the House of Representatives disagreed with the Council's amendments in Clio War Legislation Amendment Bill. SIB FRANCIS BULL said that a machinery amendment made in clause 16 at the suggestion of the Crown Law Officers should be insisted upon. The Council's amendment making absolute the right of Civil Servants to superannuation was useful, but m> there wa.s difficulty he would move that the Council should not insist upon it. This motion was agreed to.
