INCREASED CHTLTWEN'S ALLOWANCE ASKED FOR. By Telegraph—Press Association. ! Invercargill, October 26. A public'meeting to-night, addressee by members of the Second Divisior League, carried the following resolutions (11 "This meeting is emphatically of th< opinion lhat the separation allowancf for children should be increased to 10s fid. per week, and consider the Government has not proved that the conntrj rannot afford to pay it." (2) "This meeting fully. and ungrudgingly given credit io the Government for. the amendments made regarding j-ensions for soldiers and dependants, but feels justified in asking the Government to reconsider the question of children's allowances."
