By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, October 23. The shotfr opened to-day. The followine; championships were awarded:—Lincoln ram- and ewe, J. C. Field j .Eomney ram and c-we, J. C. Field. PALMEKSTON SPRING CATTLE FAIE. A reminder is given farmers and others of the annual spring oattle fair to be held in the Palmerston North aaleyarda on Thursday. This fair promises to be the largest since the yards have been removed to Boundary Road. Upwards of 3000 head of oattle and 1000 sheep will be yarded, and the auctioneers have made provision for the handling of' this large entry to best advantage. A replace advertisement appears in another column, and it will be seen that all ages and olasses of stock are represented by big entries. The sale'will commence sharp at 12 noon, and luncheon may be obtained at the yards from 11 a.m. IVoodflelds 'bus will leave the Clarendon corner at regular intervals from 10.30 onwards.
