Ittcluded in the recent casualty lists is tho name of Captain Robert S&fton.. Adams, Royal Meld Artillery, only son' of Dr. and Mrs. H. Adams, of Wellington, and a nephew of Colonel W. H. S. Moorhouse. Captain Adams was born in. London, but came out to New Zealand, with his people as a child. He was edu-: cated at Wellington College, whero he distinguished himself as an athlete, and. when he left to study law at Cambridge was head prefect •of tho college. _ He received his B.A. degree at Cambridge. On the outbreak of war Captain Adauw joined tho Royal Field Artillery, « D ."- was given a commission. He received lus captaincy last April. Captain Adams was married just the'war, and leave? a widow and child in England. LieutenankGolonel J. P.. D. whose appointment to be Principal Medical Officer of Trentham Camp is gazetted, has seen active service in tho New Zealand Medical Corps. Colonel Leahy loft the Dominion on the staff of the Ist Now Zealand Stationary Hospital. After being in Egvpt for six months, the hospital was niovei to Salonika, the ship on which it embarked being tho ill-fated Marquette. During the early stages of tho Allies occupation of Salonika, Colonel Leahy was on service there for seven months. At the end of that time he was invalided home. Tho new P.M.O. lias had ft wide experience of bacteriological work, nn<i was acting P.M.O.' at Trentham at the time of his appointment to tho post. The death occurred yesterday mornin? at her residenoe. Patanga Crescent, of Mrs. Sheridan, wife of Mr. Patrick Sheridan (formerly Native Lands Purchase Officer). Mrs. Sheridan, who was <3 years of age, leaves ft family of three sons ana three daughters. Tho former are Messrs. J. Sheridan, of Gisborne, Joseph Sheridan (on active service), and Manus Sheridan, of Christchureh, and the daughters are Mesdamcs H. Plimmer and.. . 0 Bnea and Misß Hose Sheridan. Ihe late Mro. Sheridan succumbed to heart _fajl-are. A solemn mass will be celebrated at the Hill Street Basilica at 9 a.m. to-morrow. The interment will be private.
