EASTBOURNE CLUB,
The opening of the Eastbourne Green took placo on Saturday. Tho president of tho club (Mr. H. Shortt), in declaring the green open, extended a hearty welcomo to a very large conSngont ot visitors, including Mr. Charles Hill, senr. the father of the game in Wellington, who motored around with tho Xo iiiwi representatives. . The following skips, brought full rinks to represent their respective clubs: Messrs. Norwood (Victoria), Fergusson (Te Hiwi), Lyall (Khandallah), Dryden (Karon), Kinvig (Wellington), 11 Coll (helburn), Burgess (Lyall Bay). Tho opposing skips, from Eastbourne comprised H. Mayer, T. Mayer. D. Munro, Thomson, Leslie, Danis, Stevens. Members and visitors with their wives were tho guests of tho president and Mrs. Shortt at afternoon tea, and tho Eastbouruo Orchestra, under Mr. Cirnino, enlivened tho proceedings with- several choice selections.
■ lIATAITAI CLUB. Despite tho heavy rain on Saturday morning tho Hataitai Club held a most successful game on a perfect green. Advantage was taken to hold tho-' annual match, President v.
