LAST RUGBY MATCH
PETONE BEATS OLD BOYS
There was a fair attendance at Athletic Park on Saturday, when tho last Rugby match of tho season was played. Tho teams were Petone and Old T-oye. Petone played very good' Rugby, and won with a con3iderable margin in tneir favour. All their trie 9 were from passing rushes. One wing three-quarter (A. Thomas) scored four tries, and tho other wins: (W. Thomas) 6cored _ one. Nicholls, tho half, initiated most of the passing attacks. Petone were first to. scorc. Tho try came from a passing rush iu which tho leathor went from the half right on to A. Thomas on tho wing. Coles paled. Petone's next try went to W. Thomas on the other wing. It was not converted. Hislop, wing-forward, who -played a splendid game, and Condor scored tries for Old Boys, and at half-.imo the score stood: Petone, 8; Old Boys, 6. In the second spell A. Thomas scored three tries for Petone and Ambler converted ono of them. The fic.il score was: Petone Old Boys B Ah-'. A. C. ICitto was referee.
St. James's Biblo Class and Trinity Bible Class played a curtain-raiser to the above match. St. James won by 8 points to nil.
