SUPERANNUATED TEACHERS
Sir,— Consistency is an admirable quality, either in an individual or in a corporate body, "but the Wellington' Education Board hath it not At its meeting yesterday it decided—all wisely, too—to ask'two retiring teachers to continue their useful work till the war is over. In June last year one of the best teachers in the district, in sending in his resignation, owing to his having reached the age-limit, expressed his willingness to continue teaching to the end of the year, or till the end of the war at the discretion of the board. His offer was declined, although at the time there had been, a great depletion of the board's staff of teachers. , .
