The demand last week-end for accommodation by the soldiers from the local camp" wis so ereat, that every availab o corner In the Y.M.C.A. Building 111 W l '' l Street, and the Soldiers Hostel in Boulcott Street, was utilised. Several friends of the association kindly extended hospitality to a number for wliom it was impossible for the association to provide, and yet at the hostel 199 beds were supplied and 341 meals served, and at the mam building ,in Willis Street 180 beds were slept in and nearly 400 meals taken. A narly of ladies, arranged by Miss Houghton and Mrs. Isabel Kckthall. (Christcliurch North) spoke to an appreciative audience.
