NEW ZEALAND SOLDIERS' CLUB IN LONDON
ACCOUNT OF ITS STEWARDSHIP. (Rec. September fi, 9 p.m.) London, September 6. At the annual meeting of the-New Zealand Soldiers' Club in London, it was reported that the club had supplied the soldiers with a quarter of a million meals and 65,000 beds. Sir Thomas Mackenzie (New Zealand High Commissioner) paid a tribute to the far-reaching good the club was doing, and appealed for the fullest support from the people of New. Zealand. Men, on leave from the trenches were met at "the railways and brought to the club, where every care and comfort were provided. Brigadier-General G. S. Richardson (commanding the New Zealanders in England) said that tho New Zealauders described the club as tlioir best homo in London.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
A SHIP COMMANDEER
REPORTED SEIZURE OF NORWEGIAN CONSTRUCTION IN AMERICA. (Rtic. September G, 0 p.m.) " Copenhagen, September 5. It is reported that America is seizing 270 000 tons of Norwegian shipping which is being built at American shipyards.— United Service.
