PEACE PETITION TO BRITISH PARLIAMENT
A HINT OP ITS ORIGIN. (Kec. August 21, 7.15 p.m.) London, August 20. In tho Houso of Commons, Sir. Bonar Law stated that tho Government had received a petition containing 221,617 signatures, urging tho initiation of negotiations for a lusting peace. He was not awarp whether this petition had been prepared by a man who was acting as tho paid secretary of tao Pcaco Society.—Aus.-xM. Cable- Assn.
