TALISMAN' CONSOLIDATED, LTD. AUCKLAND. August 8. During the month' of. July, the Talisman Consolidated, Ltd.,. crushed and treated 1560 tons of ore, yielding bullion valued at, £12.643 19s. 9d. The costs for the month totalled £1 6s. 7d., made up as follows:— Mine development, £1 Is. 10d.; mining,. £1 Zβ. Id.; general, ss; "Id. The gold output for the Ujiion of South! Arrica for 1916 was 9.296,963.60z. fine gold, va1ue.£39,490,990, which is the highest output yet recorded, and exceeds the total for 1915 by 200,553.010z., value £351,895. Although the war has seriously affected tho Rale of diamonds, the output, for 1916 was 2,346,330.21 carats, value £5,728.391, which was obtained from nine mines—two in the Transvaal, one in the Cape, and six in the Orange Free State. The output during 1916 of other minerals was:—Antimony, £21.227; asbestos. £82,481: corundum. £7762; graphite. £1780: iron oxide, £45; iron pyrite, £8142: lead, £5202; magnetite. £1533; mica, £1185: scheelitc. £252; sodji (crude), £25,121; talc, £586; lime. £105,694; flint. .£1537; • gypsum. £11,983; and silver in gold bullion, £106,308.
