STRONG CLOSING SPEECHES
The Legislative Council met at 10 a.m. and adjourned in order that the AcliiiESpeaker (the Hon. W. C. P. Ciirncrossj, accompanied by members, might present the Address-in-Keply to the GovernorGeneral.
The Council resumed at 10.55 a.m. The Acting-Speaker stated that he had been requested by the Governor-General to convey to tho Council His Excellency's thanks for the Address and his deep reBret at t!ie illness of the Sneaker (the Hon. C. J. Johnston).
Tho Acting-Speaker added that he had received a cablegram reporting the safe arrival at Vancouver of the Speaker, who had gone to America at tho direction of his medical advisers.
The Council adjourned until 2.30 p-m. ( When the Council met at 2.30 p.m. , some departmental papers were laid on the tablo by the Leader of the Council (Sir Francis Bel]). The Council adjourned at 2.32 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday next.
