FRENCH CLUB

Captain Barclay presided at the weekly meeting ot the French Club last night. The first item was a song, "On voules vons Aller?" by Mr. Cooke. Theib followed a piano solo by Miss Lea. A lecture was given by Captain Barclay on "Andre Chenier," a French- poet and author of the eighteenth century, who perished on the scaffold in the Reign of Terror. The lecture was illustrated by the reading of some of the author's poems, and extracts from his other works. Captain Barclay was listened to attentively, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to him.
