MAGISTRATE'S COURT
POLICE CASES. Mr. S. E. M'Carthy presided at tho Magis- . trate's Court yesterday and dealt with the police cases. Charles Thomas Luzon, a returned soldier, for whom Mr. H. H. Cornish appeared, was charKcd that on June 13, 1917, I at Wellington, he did commit biiramy. A remand to July 18 was granted and hall was allowed in £50 and one surety of £53. Ac elderly man named William Wallace was charged with being an incorrigible rogue in that he was found by night on enclosed property in Wakefield Street. Wallace had been in the Ohiro Home, but conld not be induced to stay there. He had been previously convicted as a rogue end a vagabond, no was sentenced to twoi years' imprisonment. ' Joseph Dossenbach and Itobcrt O'Leary, convicted of drunkenness, were each fined 2!fe., in default seven days' imprisonment. CIVIL CASES. Mr. W. G. Biddcll, S.M., heard the civil casis in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Judgment was given for plaintiff in the following undefended cases:—Jack Jacobus v D. In judgment summons eases the following orders were made:—Howard Hill was ordered to pay Hlythcs,' Ltd., £27 Ok. 4d . liy July 24, in default fourteen days imprisonment; 11. ll'Nae was ordered to pay George M'Bride. Ltd., £5 12s. by July 24. or to serve five days in gaol; ru'd Young was ordered to pay 11. H. Stewart £31 Os. 6d. by July 24, with thr option of I serving 28 days in gaol; George llogan was •ordered to pay Kobcrt Henry Dniplil " 10s, 9d. by instalments of 6s. per niuutli.
