THE NEW KEEP-IT-DAKK MINES, LTD. The following report upon the operations of the above company lias been forwarded to us by the managing director,' Mr. It. Wilson:—For the past few months the company has been engaged upon repair and renewal work. This was made neooHsary by the injunction of the Inspector of Mines, which forbade the working of the Icvclb until now air-courses' had becu constructed and better ventilation provided. As a consequence, the battery has worked only during brief periods, and then chiefly upon stone won from development places. But I am pleased to say that this embargo has now been lifted, and the mine is in line order, with ventilation up to the mining standard. We shall almost-immc-diately run tho battery two sliifts, and soon threo shifts, on stono from new stopes. In No. 3 level we have opened a reef six feet wide, of good payable quartz, and havo driven on samo for 25 feet. This reef runs into virgin country, and is doubtless part of tho North Lodo Bystem which was worked by tho old company with such good results. If it Hvcb. of which there appears to be little doubt, it will give us a practically new mine. In No. 9 level, stone of a high assay valuo has been located, but a deepening of the shaft will bo necessary to work it. In No. 8 level wo aro driving to intercept the reef upon which a winze was sunk from No. 7 level. It is good, liigh-grado stone, and already tho extension of the drive has disclosed a fine reef track carrying good-looking quartz, and wo expect at any minuto to get news of encouraging developments.
