WELLINGTON CLUB'S KEI'OKT. In tho annual report of the Wellington Howling Club, Ltd., tho directors congratulate members on the satisfactory ltnaucial position of tho club. The club started tho year with a credit of £76 Bs. Bd., aud ended with a debit bank balanco of X 771 19s. lid. This .however, had been caused b'y the cash purchase' of adjoining lands at a cost of £950, and the other expenditure, in adding to plant. Building of retaining wall and other necessary work assisted in making up tho debit, but, the committeo add, from a perusal of the balance-sheet, tho members should 1)b satisfied with the substantial position of the club. Durins the year 16 new members were elected, wbila tbe losses by resignations and deaths totalled 21. Tho dircctorn record with regret tho deaths of Mr. J. M'Glashan, Mr. 0. Palliacr, and Mr. S. J. Flcwellyn. Tho present membership of tho club (including 12 country members) stands at, 195. Tho dircctora congratulate tho members on the success attained by tho club in tournaments held during the season. Tho usual sowing and top-dressing of the greens had been carried out. and it has been decided that the 'small upper grcon should be utilised for tho purposo of supplying 1-nrf for repairs to tho playing greens. During tho season the sum of £200 was contributed by club members to the funds ofytho Bed Cross and other patriotio societies. Tho directors thank those members who subscribed so liberally towards the cxpenso of entertaining visitors to tho green during the Dominion Tournament, and also the. /ladies for assisting at the various functions held during tho season.
