.STOPPED FROM PROCEEDING TO PETROGRAD. London, June 10. At a meeting in Trafalgar Square to protest against Mr. Ramsay Maodonald's visit to Petrojjrad, a telegram was read from a branch of the Seamen and Firemen's Union stating that the union had Mr. Macdonald and Ht. P. W. Jowett (the other pacifist delegate) prisoners, and that the crew refused to sail with them.—Renter. (Rec. June 11, 9.55 p.m.) London, June 11. Stockholm, June 10. Tho representatives of Socialist workmen in Holland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Germany, and AustriaHungary have assembled and decided that it will he impossible to carry out the original plan for a universal congross. The.v have therefore invited ten. delegates of all countries to' attend a congress i'.i Switzerland on September 17. The German leaders pointed out that the proper aim of the present conference is to deal with labour questions as affected by the peace negotiations, and not to deal with tho political -aspects of the war or the responsibility for its origin.
