'An official dispatch from General Maude, British Commander in Mesopotamia, dated, April 10, states: "Withdrawing our advanced detachments on the right bank of the Piala River, lve drew the bulk of the enemy's j forces on this flank, towards Detyawa. We marched towards the Diala and attacked them on the morning of April .11, the enemy being driven out of his advanced positions near Gnaliges, north-east of Deltawa. The same evening the enemy withdrew six miles, towards Seraijik. "Our operations were continued on April 12 and 13,' it-he Turks falling back on Deli-Abbas.
