A QUEEN'S DRIVE DANGER
Sir, —Perhaps now that a fatal Accident has occurred the authorities may seo the necessity of forming a footway along Queen's Drive, Lyall Bay, from its intersection with Sutherland Road towards the quarry. Apparently they recognise that the road is one of the most used about Wellington by recently widening it, t>ut by. a little filling in there is space for about two roadways, let alone a broad footpath, so there is no difficulty in the-way. It is a crying shame the rate at which motor-cars, and worse still, motor-cycles, tear along that highway, whileipeople, and particularly children, are obliged to walk along or cross the road at the risk of then lives. Hoping that the council will now recognise the urgent necessity for a pathway.—l am, etc., FOREWARNED. April 13.
